Radionavigational devices and system Laboratory classroom № 105, building №3

The Laboratory is necessary for practical training of the students of training of the students of «Navigation» specialty, education & qualification level «Bachelor», «Master’s Degree».

The laboratory and practical work are conducted in compliance in compliance with curriculum appliances on the subjects «Radionavigational device and appliances», «Radio navigational device and systems». The leading tutor is the senior teacher Lytvak M.S.

The laboratory is equipped whit the modern radionavigational device including the following:

Mechanisms: Radar system JRC 6023, transmitter-receiver (transceiver) JRC range.

Devices: monitor JRC – 10 m, radar system JRC monitor – 3 m «FURUNOGP» – 31. Display unit receiver «LORAN» JRC.

Appliances: transmitter-receiver VHF JRC, display unit receiver GPS.

Simulator: Radar, AIS, ARPA, SART.

New appliances of the firm FURUNO (Japan) for the radar holl in addition to «Bridge-Masters» is set to increase the quality of training of the students of KSMA and Maritime college of KSMA.

While conducting the laboratory and the practical work in compliance with the IMO requirements – the model course for training of navigators, the students obtain the skill how to use modern radionavigational applianees, to define the ship’s position to plot the route of sea passage, to correct the charts and work with them. Data of the device can be used to calculate the criterion of navigational safety.

The laboratory is necessary for practical training of the students of the «Navigation» specialty, educational qualification level «Bachelor», «Master’s Degree».

The laboratory and practice work are conducted for the students in compliance with the curriculum on the subject «Electronavigational devices and systems».

The leading tutors of Navigation, Occupational and Environmental, Safety Department are the senior teacher Lytvak M.S., Zolotarenko V.F. (Captain).

The laboratory is equipped with the modern electronavigational device, including:

Mechanisms: Radar System JRC 6023, transmitter receiver JRC range.

Gyrocompass «Anschutz stand.22» – is a high-quality competitive product on the work market of the navigation instance, owing to its navigational system, the name Anschutz has become the brand not only in Germany but all over the world. The Model Standard 22 – is an absolutely new compact model of gyrocompass with the direct operation, which was put on the market in 2003. It differs from with the higher parameters of accuracy, smaller sizes and wider possibilities.

GPS composes «Koden KGS – 1». It is the most modern satellite compass of a compact type. There is an opportunity to show its operation in the classroom by putting the platform with the antennas out of the classroom windrow on the turning rod.

Echo – sounder Samyung SES – 2000 is demanded by all types of ship.

Electronavigational log IEL – 2M provider all necessary functions of the most modern and expunction logs. On all old ship this log model is not changed for the new models, become it is combined with all modern ship’s equipment.

Learning Lab is required for practical preparation of cadets «Navigation» specialty educational qualification level «bachelor», «master».

It is conducting laboratory and practical work with the cadets in accordance with the workers training programs on subjects «Meteorology», «Ocean world ways», «Meteorology and Oceanography», «Hydro-meteorological maintenance of navigation».

Conducting teachers: Ph.D., associate professor N.G. Alexandrova, senior teacher P.I. Bushuev.

Learning Lab is equipped with modern appliances, maps and manuals:

Ship weather station TFA Primus (Germany), heliograph, anemometer, Aspiration psychrometer, a barograph, barometer, humidity recorder, germograf, wind speed indicator.

The laboratory is necessary for practical training of cadets in «Navigation» specialty for the educational qualification level «bachelor», «master».

It is conducting laboratory and practical work with the cadets in accordance with the workers training programs on subjects «Global maritime communication for search and rescue», «Operation of ship radio systems and satellite communications».

Laboratory "Ship Survivability and Safety of Life at Sea"

Designed for conducting lectures, laboratory and practical works - of the following subjects: "Safety in Industry", "Fundamentals of occupational safety and health", "Ensuring safety in maritime transport", "Civil Defense", "Security measures and civil defense on the ship "," Ecology and Environment "," Prevention of pollution of the marine environment ","Problems of safety of navigation and protection of the environment".

The laboratory is equipped with modern marine weather station TFA «Primus» (Germany), which allows the simultaneous determination of more than ten parameters in the transition, including - temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, air, etc.

In the laboratory, students learn the theoretical and practical aspects of occupational safety, fire prevention, study the regulatory and legal framework of labor protection, basic principles and methods of environmental protection, marine environment, the principles of civil defense organizations on the vessel in the event of unforeseen emergencies.

Cadets study the principles of safe navigation, marine management, following the basic rules for the prevention of collision, the International Safety Management Code, vessels operation, the safety management system of vessels in the context of SOLAS-74.

The learning program of specialty «Navigation» educational qualification level «bachelor», «Master», corresponds to the IMO - a model course for skippers.

Practical skills of ship’s course plotting on paper charts received by cadets are aimed at following:

  1. provide basis for mastering ship’s electronic cartographic system on passage planning from port of departure to port of call and upkeeping of executive ship’s course plotting according to the established route;
  2. 2. provide with necessary knowledge and skills as for course thesis completion in navigational passage planning from port of departure to port of call;
  3. 3. provide necessary skills for watchkeeping at sea.
