Navigation Faculty

Faculty of navigation has been functioning since the date of Kherson State Maritime Institute establishment.

Training of KSMA day department students and cadets is carried out in compliance with the law of Ukraine “On higher education” and “Teaching process at higher educational establishments of Ukraine” regulations. Faculty of navigation trains specialists for river and sea transport of Ukraine at educational and qualification levels of “bachelor”, “specialist”, “master” in the following branches of knowledge: 1003 «Navigation and ship power engineering» (specialities: 7.100301, 8.100301 “Navigation”) and 0701 “Transport and transport infrastructure” (6.070104 “Sea and River Transport”).

Training is carried out at the full-time, correspondence and non-residence departments at the expense of the state budget as well as of natural and legal entities.

Specialists are trained by the faculty teaching staff from six departments, among which department of navigation and department of work safety and environmental protection are degree-granting.

Faculty training facilities include 5 lecture halls, 27 classrooms, 16 special-purpose laboratories, 8 English language classrooms, 5 computer classrooms, workshops, 2 gyms and 1 workout facility, that are located at three buildings and water sports base.

Classrooms and laboratories are equipped with up-to-date radio navigation and satellite communication systems, fully functional radio sets and electrical navigation equipment, navigation simulators.
